It all started as a small garden back in 2010 at what we call “the spread” on the banks of the Cheat River in preston county, WV.
Maybe it’s the sandy soil, the altitude, or the fresh mountain air, all we know is that peppers really like to grow on that little plot of “almost heaven.” Trying our hand at all sorts of peppery concoctions, Andy learned how to process our pepper harvest into fermented hot sauces and smoked spice mixes. Dorrie focused on incorporating them into interesting recipes.
We started sending small bottles of sauce, pepper mustard, salsa, and chutney to family and friends as Christmas gifts. We didn't expect that our relaxing hobby would turn into demand for more and more of our delicious sauces and spices. Each year the garden grew bigger and bigger, incorporating uncommon pepper varieties to offer flavors beyond the ever popular cayennes and jalapenos. As our family and friends weighed in on each year’s unique creations, we were blown away by the positive responses. Fast forward to 2020, and Andor Peppers was officially formed, launching with some of our most popular products.
Our small batch, craft hot sauces, and spice mixes are 100% natural and hand bottled. Year to year, the heat level may vary depending on soil conditions, weather, and the genetic make up of the seeds planted. Leave us a note on the contact page with your ideas on uses and which sauce or other products you liked best so we can plan the 2021 crop!
Enjoy! Andy & Dorrie
